Blogging since 2007, I’ve made connections with countless brands. There is one partnership I cherish above all others; Pampers understands the value of social media, genuinely cares about their consumers and continually looks for ways help those in need. To celebrate all new Pampers–the driest yet–they offered Baby Board members a gift card with the opportunity to “Give the Gift of Sleep.” I immediately knew a high quality baby video monitor would be my gift.
In 2009 when our 3-year old daughter was diagnosed with a seizure disorder, our family was both devastated and scared. After taking to the internet with a vengeance, we began to make small changes that allowed both our daughter and our family to manage epilepsy. Although we whisked her into our bedroom after the diagnosis, when we were finally ready to move her back into her own room, we were terrified about a nighttime seizure and immediately purchased a better baby monitor. We wanted all of the bells and whistles to both see and hear her as if she was next to us in bed. The peace of mind it gave us is the reason I thought immediately of a high-quality monitor as a “gift of sleep.”
Although my first idea was the find a family whose little one was recently diagnosed with a seizure disorder and may need some nighttime peace of mind, my mother, who is in healthcare, knew of a family who could use some TLC. I was blessed today to be introduced to a lovely young woman whose son Dylan underwent open heart surgery at the tender age of 3 months old. Thanks to Pampers, I was able to give his mom the “Gift of Sleep.” Filled with the best baby video camera on the market along with our favorite sleep related items such as Cloud B’s Twilight Turtle and Tranquil Turtle, I visited her today and was touched and inspired by her story.
Imagining the emotional roller coaster Dylan’s new mom Carla had been on over the last few months, the basket also include a spa gift card since a happy mom makes for a happy family! She was very grateful for the gift which I assured her had nothing to do with me and everything to do with a company that truly cares about families. Thank you Pampers for giving the gift of sleep to this beautiful family! And at nearly 4 months old, you’ll be happy to know baby Dylan is doing very well. And hopefully he and his parents will be sleeping just a bit easier in the nights to come.
